A Deck Building Company Founded by a Home Builder
One Builder, One Standard, Since 2007
David did not come to decks from landscaping or from a franchise playbook. He came from building whole houses, where a mistake in a footing shows up as a crack in drywall two winters later and everyone knows whose fault it is.
When he founded North Georgia Elite Decks in Jasper in 2007, he brought the part of house building that most deck contractors never learn: that a structure is a chain of load paths from the roof to the soil, and the outdoor half of that chain gets treated as an afterthought almost everywhere.
The company stayed small and family owned on purpose. One crew, no rotating subcontractors, and the owner still on most estimates nineteen years in. Growth has come from neighbors pointing at each other’s back yards, which is a slower way to build a business and a much better way to keep a reputation.
Today that same standard covers decks, porches, railings and hardscape across the foothills, from Jasper out to Blue Ridge, Canton, Woodstock and the GA-400 corridor.

What We Deliberately Do Not Do
Six things you will not get from us
We do not sell you a rebuild when a repair will do. Reviews exist from people we talked out of spending money.
We do not build off templates. Every structure is drawn for its own site, slope and house.
We do not chase roofing, fencing or interior work. Outdoor structures only, which is why we are good at them.
We do not hand your project to rotating subs. One crew, start to finish, with the owner reachable throughout.
We do not quote a single number sight unseen. Ranges before the visit, an itemized figure after it.
We do not bury permit costs inside a square foot rate. Fees appear on their own line, every time.
Questions About Who We Are
How long has North Georgia Elite Decks been in business?
Since 2007, which makes 2026 our nineteenth year building in the North Georgia foothills. The company has been family owned that entire time, run from the same shop in Jasper, with the founder still walking most estimates personally.
What makes a home-builder background different for a deck?
Houses teach you that everything is a load path ending in soil, and that water finds every seam you did not detail. Decks fail at footings, ledger flashing and stairs far more often than at the boards you can see. A crew trained on houses treats those three as the actual project and the decking as the finish.
Are you a big company or a small crew?
Small, deliberately. Small enough that customers name individual people in their reviews, large enough to run engineered structures, permits and multi-week builds without subcontracting the work out. That size is the reason replies are fast and the owner is still reachable.
What areas do you actually build in?
More than thirty towns radiating out from Jasper, along the I-575, Highway 515 and GA-400 corridors. That covers Canton, Woodstock, Alpharetta, Cumming, Ellijay, Blue Ridge and the mountain communities between them. The areas we serve page lists every one.
Do you do more than decks?
Everything outside the back door that is structural. Screened and covered porches, railing systems, paver patios, retaining walls and outdoor living buildouts alongside the deck work. What we do not do is roofing, fencing or interior remodeling, because spreading that thin is how quality slips.
Where can I see proof rather than claims?
Three places, none of them written by us. Our 69 Google reviews at 4.9 stars, our published profile in Trex’s own installer directory, and the project gallery, which is entirely our own work rather than manufacturer stock photography.
